SA/VS Mobile App
Mobile Application, 375px X 812px, 2020

My work takes on the human problem of encouraging collaboration and the growing need for a stronger sense of community within SA/VS. Taking on the form of a mobile application, the digital platform is analogous to the experience of an artist or designer submitting and displaying work within a gallery setting. On this digital platform, students can post their work, discover new work, be updated on SA/VS events, and start conversations with classmates. This isn't a replacement for Instagram or Canvas, rather a new tool that's specifically catered towards SA/VS students to help build a community.

Being completely digital, the barrier of entry and the physical limitations of the gallery space are removed. This encourages the creation of student work because of the increased discoverability and interactivity of being on a digital platform. Users will be able to discover student work that they otherwise wouldn't have known about. Potentially leading to conversations, collaborations, and friendships outside of the app. Through my research, discussions around creating and showcasing creative work have been the catalyst for wanting to build a stronger community within SA/VS. Ultimately, the goal is to encourage more student work and lead to more interactions between students.
