There is a fine line between dreams and reality, it's up to you to draw it.”                                        - B. Quilliam

I am interested creating pieces that express emotion in abstract form using color, movement, rhythm, harmony, and line to accentuate the connection between reality and illusion. By opening the door to truth and sentiment through abstract art I try to open the lines of communication. I emphasize color and texture using easily accessed materials like paints, pastels, and ink on canvas. I am completing a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and Psychology and am interested in the intersection of the two and how color and abstract paintings encourage growth and emotions in the viewer without restricting them to an expected observational perspective.  I am also interested in how our experiences influence our perception of the truth; and how flexible to concept of truth is.

I have lived in many cities, the process of moving, starting over, and learning how to adapt to new situations has given me the opportunity to appreciate being fluid and appreciate things for what they are, not for what I wish them to be.  I use common materials that are easily accessible that allow me to push past the lines of expectation into imagination.  By using fluid materials, I must allow the piece to become what it will without having complete control over the outcome.  I have an open process that starts with an idea that generally grows and changes throughout the development of the piece; just as we as individuals grow and change to become who we identify with as ourselves. The subject matter is typically non-objective forms and intentionally allows interpretation of my art and what it says to you may not be what it says to me.
