What does it mean to create in a time of great change and uncertainty?

Our graduating seniors in Art Studio and Digital Media Design have spent this semester diving into independent inquiries—defining avenues for their creative voices, articulating new problems to solve. With practices which are thoughtful, informative, persuasive, critical, practical, experimental or expected, their capstone projects embody the nature of our multidisciplinary and multi-faceted degree programs.

This semester has been marked by a disruption which has changed daily life for everyone. Beginning mid-March, many students were tasked with pivoting in-progress projects (ranging from cyanotypes on glass to large-scale sculptures) to exist in a digital format; with resilience and levity, they adapted and re-focused their efforts and concepts.

Join us for celebrating the first fully-online exhibition for these classes. We — the professors of the senior capstone courses—would like to thank our students for their hard work and flexibility, and the team at Cargo for providing us with a beautiful platform by which to showcase these works. Students: revel in your success! Visitors: please share this site widely in recognition of our students' accomplishments!
