The Elements of Design
Digital images, 2020

Exploring the parts of the brain that influence what attracts us to specific parts of design is an endless endeavor, one that we may never fully understand. The diverse backgrounds and individual profiles of each person will change what they are attracted to. In order to scratch the surface of why people like the parts of design that they do,  three original packaging designs were created to gage an audience's reaction and attraction to each. Although there may never be a definitive answer as to what triggers the brain to allow our senses to respond positively to specific parts of design, we may get close. Psychology and design pair hand in hand with each other, even if that is not apparent initially. The Elements of Design was created with the intention that we might delve deeper into our own psyche and become more well versed in why specific elements of design are appealing to us as individuals.
