My inspiration for my images sparked from how we are only comfortable showing our true, authentic self in the protection of our own privacy. Mental health is an issue that is very common, and yet the majority of people who are dealing with their own form of it, feel entirely alone. In this series I wanted to highlight the raw emotions we try to hide, and present them in a way that shows a sense of togetherness. My images consist of all strangers, arranged side by side, and my goal is they would organically mesh together being seen as singular image. I want my images to show the isolation many feel and the low points that are rarely shown. My hope is if my work is seen by someone who is suffering with these same internal battles, they could take comfort in feeling this way by realizing they are not as alone as they might feel.
