Crafted
Yarn bomb, acryllic yarn, scarves, antique chair

The idea for this art piece was to do something with “letting your mind wonder” and having yarn/knitting incorporated into the piece and to show something that I made with my own hands. I decided to used scarves, varying in colors, that I made over the years and use them to cover an old chair that’s been in my family. With the current situation that is happening in the world, I wanted to create something that would give people a smile when they view it and make them wonder. When people look at what I made, I want it to spark the questions “What is it supposed to be?” and “Why did the artist do this?” The piece itself is a type of graffiti called Yarn Bombing. Crafting something by hand and escapism were the keywords I had in mind when making this. Crafting is not just my way of escaping from reality; it can be a way for others to escape as well. Not only I want this piece to make someone’s mind wonder, I also want it to inspire someone to create something they enjoy and feel proud of.
